Had the best mini-break in Lorne this week with Emily. We stopped by Mexican Republic on the way into town and I was very impressed by the food. It had a similar feel to Fonda in Melbourne. The corn, and the tortillas with chorizo, onion jam, mushroom and goats cheese were standouts, and their cocktails were sweet and unpretentious.
Woke up in the morning to discover Emily had cooked a delicious breakfast of poached eggs with prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella with olive oil, which we ate with strawberries out on the verandah. We walked around Erskine Falls, which is a must when you go to Lorne.
